Ο ενδοφακός είναι ένας τεχνητός φακός, σαν φακός επαφής, ο οποίος τοποθετείται αντί του φυσικού φακού του ματιού όταν αυτός έχει αρχίσει και θολώνει λόγω της φυσικής φθοράς και της γήρανσης του φυσικού φακού. Κατά τη διάρκεια της επέμβασης καταρράκτη, ο φυσικός φακός αφαιρείται και αντικαθίσταται με έναν ενδοφακό στον οποίο μπορούμε να συμπεριλάβουμε και διαθλαστικούς βαθμούς αντιμετωπίζοντας έτσι και διαθλαστικές ανωμαλίες των οφθαλμών όπως η πρεσβυωπία.
